About This Patient

This 77 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by her internist for breast reduction surgery. She was increasingly bothered by her large breasts sagging more and more. This caused her bra straps to painfully dig into her shoulders while performing household tasks and knitting. She wore a 34 D bra pre-operatively and desired a large B, small C cup size. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. A central pedicle breast reduction removed 345 grams of breast tissue from the right breast and 535 grams from the left. Despite her age, she recovered rapidly from the surgery without any complications. She was very happy with the new size and shape of her breasts as well the resolution of her pre-operative symptoms.
