About This Patient

This 31 year old patient was referred to Dr. Parker by her mother, also a patient of Dr. Parker. She was concerned by the persistently small size of her breasts. She has always worn a 34A cup and would like to be a full C cup. The patient is 5’5″ tall and weighs 155 pounds. Dr. Parker explained that she has what are known as “tuberous breasts”, that is they are constricted by fibrous bands which cause the breast tissue and areola to herniate forward with a high, tight inframammary fold. He recommended a surgery whereby he would reduce the size of the areola, release the constricting bands to lower the inframammary fold, and insert a breast implant to provide a better shape to the breasts. Implant size and type were decided during a pre-operative Sizing Session; the patient decided she wanted saline implants which is what her mother has and loves. Due to the pre-existing asymmetry of her breasts, Dr. Parker inserted a 425 cc implant into the left(larger) breast and 450 cc into the right breast. The patient recovered quickly following her procedure and had very little pain. She loves the natural appearance of her breasts and feels much more self-confident.
