About This Patient

This 61 year old came to Dr. Parker via word of mouth. She requested improvement in the appearance of the hanging skin on her arms. She had undergone lap band surgery 2 years earlier and had lost 75 pounds. The patient is 5’2″ tall and weighs 155 pounds. Dr. Parker performed a traditional brachioplasty, or arm lift, because of the significant amount of skin laxity. The incisions were carefully closed with several layers of dissolvable sutures to minimize visible scarring. Postoperatively, the patient experienced little pain. She is pleased with the significantly improved contour of her arms and the scars, which are acceptable to her as a trade off.
