About This Patient

This 19 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient of the Parker Center. She was bothered by the appearance of her nose and said she “hated” it. She felt it was too large for her face, crooked with a dorsal hump, broad tip and wide nasal base. Dr. Parker reviewed these concerns with the patient and discussed a surgical plan to address them. He supplemented this discussion with computer imaging of the patient’s anticipated results. The patient liked what she saw, and several weeks later she underwent an open rhinoplasty. Dr. Parker straightened her crooked nose, reduced the bony/cartilaginous hump, performed infractures to narrow the upper nose, refined and set back the nasal tip to help the nose look smaller and performed an alar base resections to narrow the base of the nose. The patient’s recovery went as expected. She is very happy with the markedly improved appearance of her nose which she feels is in much better proportion with the rest of her face. The patient also feels more self confident than she did before the procedure.
