About This Patient

This 61 year old presented to Dr. Parker with concerns about the appearance of her nose and some difficulty breathing. She was specifically bothered by the appearance of her dorsal hump, the crooked look of her nose, her asymmetric tip which dipped downward with smiling and persistent breathing difficulties on the right side of her nose, as well. During the review of the patient’s computer imaging, the patient expressed her concern about not losing her Native American identity. She and Dr. Parker carefully reviewed her computer imaging and made plans to avoid this from occurring. During the patient’s open rhinoplasty surgery, Dr. Parker conservatively reduced the patient’s bony cartilaginous hump, in accordance with her computer imaging. Infractures were appropriately performed to narrow the nose. The patient’ s crooked nose was straightened and the nasal tip conservatively refined. The patient’s breathing obstruction was corrected with removal of the deviated portion of her septum. The patient was delighted with the ease of her recovery as well as the postoperative appearance of her nose. She loves the significantly improved look of her nose, which retains her ethnicity. She appreciates Dr. Parker listening so carefully to her concerns, mapping out a plan to address them and performing the surgery accordingly.
