Rhinoplasty Patient 44**
About This Patient
This 33 year old requested Dr. Parker to improve the appearance of her nose. She was specifically bothered by her dorsal hump and drooping nasal tip, particularly when she smiled. Dr. Parker explained that her drooping tip was due to over activity of the muscles at the base of the nose as well as a “hanging columella”, the fleshy portion of skin between the nostrils. Dr. Parker performed a closed rhinoplasty. During this procedure, he removed the bony cartilaginous hump, performed infractures to narrow the upper nose appropriately, removed the muscles at the base of the nose to correct the droopiness and elevated the columella into an appropriate position with internal sutures. The patient was pleased with the more attractive look of her nose after surgery.
