About This Patient

This 41 year old, referred by another physician to Dr. Parker, requested improvement in the appearance of her breasts. Nine years ago, the patient had undergone transumbilical breast augmentation with the insertion of saline implants in a subglandular position by another plastic surgeon. She was troubled by the visible and palpable rippling of her implants. She also requested improvement in the appearance of her large areolas. After reviewing all options with the patient, Dr. Parker performed bilateral capsulectomies with removal of both implants through peri-areolar incisions. He removed a 360 cc implant from the right side and a 390 cc implant from the left side. He then inserted 400 cc silicone implants bilaterally in a partial submuscular location. Finally, the areolas were reduced in size to more appropriately match the shape and size of the breasts. The patient enjoyed a prompt recovery associated with little pain after surgery. She is extremely happy with the improved size, shape and appearance of her breasts.
