Removal & Replacement of Implants Patient 19**
About This Patient
This 35 year old requested removal and replacement of her existing saline breast implants inserted 15 years ago. Recently, the right implant had deflated and the left implant had hardened. During her initial consultation with Dr. Parker, the patient indicated she would like to replace her saline implants with somewhat larger silicone implants, would like more cleavage, and to have less fullness in the outer aspect of her breasts. During her Sizing Session, the patient determined she wanted to increase her implant size from her existing 325 cc to 375 cc. At surgery several weeks later, Dr. Parker removed the deflated right implant and performed a capsulectomy on the left side to remove the implant and hardened capsular contracture around it. He expanded the implant pockets medially to give more cleavage, inserted sutures in the outer aspect of the pockets(lateral capsulorraphy) to centralize the implants and inserted 375 cc silicone implants. The patient recovered quickly afterwards with very little pain. She returned to full activities shortly afterwards. The patient is very happy with her markedly improved, softer breasts and loves her cleavage as well.
