About This Patient

This 45 year old was referred by another patient of Dr Parker’s, requesting improvement in the appearance of her breasts. Eighteen years ago, she had undergone saline partial submuscular breast augmentation by another plastic surgeon. The breasts had become progressively harder over time and recently the left implant spontaneously deflated. She asked Dr Parker to remove and replace her existing saline implants with the same sized silicone implants. The patient is 4’11” tall and weighs 110 pounds. At surgery, Dr Parker removed both 300 cc saline implants and the surrounding thickened breast capsules. He then created neopectoral pockets (new pockets for the implant beneath the pectoralis muscle to minimize the risk of recurrent capsular contracture) and inserted 300 cc silicone implants into them. The patient said this recovery was much easier than the first. She is very happy with the markedly improved appearance and soft feel of her new implants.
