About This Patient

The patient’s mother asked Dr. Parker to improve the appearance of her 7 year old son’s prominent ears. He has recently begun talking about them. Dr. Parker explained the details of how an otoplasty is performed, anticipated recovery, and results. Several weeks later, he performed the otoplasty surgery by inserting permanent sutures to create a well defined anti helical fold, then set back the concha to bring the ear closer to the scalp and improved the contour of the earlobe as well. The patient recovered quickly after surgery. He and his parents are very pleased with the improved contour of his ears.
