About This Patient

This 48 year old patient requested Dr. Parker to fix the “tire around her waist”. She had been in an automobile accident 4 years earlier and developed a “bad” back. Unable to exercise, the patient gained weight and has been unable to lose it. Dr. Parker reviewed options with the patient and they agreed on a lipoabdominoplasty to improve the patient’s abdomen and SAFE liposuction of her hips to improve her shape. Dr. Parker spoke with the patient’s back surgeon prior to surgery who verified the patient’s history and thought the proposed surgery was reasonable. The patient is 6′ 0″ tall and weighs 233 pounds. During surgery, in performing the lipoabdominoplasty, Dr. Parker removed 10 pounds of tissue from the abdomen. He removed 950cc of fat from each hip with SAFE liposuction. The patient’s recovery took longer than normal because of her size and back issues, but she is quite happy now that the “tire around her waist” is no longer there.
