About This Patient

This 60 year old patient was increasingly bothered by her loss of lip fullness and the development of more and more fine wrinkle lines above her lips. In reviewing treatment options with the patient, Dr. Parker talked about using temporary solutions, such as injectables, versus a long-term solution, such as a silicone lip implant. One of Patty’s friends had one of these implants done by Dr. Parker and Patty loved the way it looked. She also liked the idea that the implant would be a long-lasting solution and not need periodic repeat treatments such as are required with injectables. Patty underwent a 20-minute procedure under local anesthesia. Dr. Parker inserted the lip implants into her upper and lower lips through tiny incisions in the corner of her mouth. She recovered quickly after the procedure and is very happy with the rejuvenated and fuller appearance of her lips.
