Keloid Treatment**

About This Patient

This 36 year old was referred to Dr. Parker for treatment of a keloid on her right ear. The patient developed a keloid 4 years earlier following ear piercing. She has undergone several steroid injections and surgical procedures elsewhere. Dr. Parker reviewed options with the patient during her consultation. They arrived at a plan which was subsequently carried out. At surgery, Dr. Parker excised the keloids and reconstructed the resultant defects using adjacent soft tissue. In addition, he arranged for the patient to undergo 3 relatively low dose radiation treatments to the area within one week of surgery. The patient is very pleased with her results.
