Facial Fillers Patient 7 – Fat Injection**

About This Patient

This 35 year old mother came to Dr. Parker concerned about facial aging. Specifically, she was bothered by the deepening frown lines developing between the corner of her mouth and nose. During her consultation with Dr. Parker, he explained these are referred to as nasolabial folds. They become deeper and more apparent as we get older. Anatomically, the skin and underlying fat just above the folds fall downward with gravity making these lines more apparent. Dr. Parker reviewed the various options available to the patient and they agreed upon a plan to inject her own fat into these folds to help soften them. The procedure was performed under local anesthesia and took about 30 minutes. The patient experienced very little pain during the procedure and none afterwards. In fact, her recovery was quite easy with very little bruising and swelling. Post surgery, the patient is delighted that these lines are considerably less noticeable and that she still looks very natural. She feels younger and more self confident since her injections.
