About This Patient

This 47 year old patient presented to Dr. Parker with concerns about her sagging breasts which had lost volume after childbirth. The patient is 5’7”, weighs 120 pounds, and wears a B cup. She saw two other plastic surgeons who were vague about whether or not she needed a lift. The patient made it clear to Dr. Parker that she wished to avoid a lift and its associated scarring, if at all possible. Dr. Parker discussed options with the patient and together they agreed upon a “dual plane” breast augmentation. As Dr. Parker explained to the patient, the upper portion of the implant would be covered by her pectoralis muscle and the lower portion of the implant by her breast tissue. The advantage to the patient was the dual plane procedure would loosen the attachments of the overlying breast tissue from the pectoralis muscle allowing the implant to expand the lower portion of the breast more naturally. This dual plane breast augmentation was subsequently performed by Dr. Parker through inframammary incisions the patient requested. During the patient’s Sizing Sessions, she selected 350 cc silicone implants. The patient recovered quickly after her surgery and is thrilled with her results.
