Thigh & Lower Body Lift in New Jersey
Following substantial weight loss, excess skin can hang from the hips, outer and inner thighs. Removal of excess skin can create a new, smoother contour, helping your legs look more youthful and even improving how your jeans fit.
Thigh Lift vs. Liposuction
One thing Dr. Parker will help you decide at your consultation is whether liposuction alone, a thigh lift, or a combination of the two will yield the results you desire. Liposuction can only remove fat and help sculpt a better shape to the thighs. While some patients with good skin elasticity may see their skin contract somewhat, liposuction alone cannot address sagging, excess skin. A thigh lift is usually necessary for these patients to remove the excess skin, tightening and smoothing the thighs. While liposuction will make you thinner, a lift will make you look younger.
Before & After Inner Thigh Lift Surgery*
before after
After losing 130 pounds, this 43 year old patient wanted to tighten the lax skin on her inner thighs. Dr. Parker performed an inner thigh lift. The patient recovered rapidly after surgery, and loves the improved appearance of her inner thighs.
The Surgery
Thigh lift and lower body lift procedures are performed under general anesthesia, usually as an outpatient. The incision for an outer thigh and buttock lift extends from hip to hip across the top of the buttocks. The incision for an inner thigh lift is concealed in the groin crease. Both are hidden with normal underwear or bathing suit.
Thigh & Body Lift procedures are often combined with abdominoplasty and liposuction. Pain is adequately controlled with oral medication. Patients return to sedentary work within one to two weeks and may slowly resume exercise in four to six weeks.
