iStock_000007720270_MediumRecovery: it’s a part of the plastic surgery process that every patient wants to go as quickly and smoothly as possible—and we want that for you too. We have a unique Rapid Recovery Program, and now we’re offering advice to help you prep your home for an ideal recovery experience.

While recovery does require plenty of rest, TLC, and a temporary hiatus from vigorous activity, this downtime doesn’t have to be a boring experience. By getting your home, your schedule, and your family situated for your recovery, you can make sure your post-op days are relaxing, restful, and conducive to helping you enjoy optimal results.

Knowing where to start can be challenging, but we’re here to help with this guide for patients planning to have plastic surgery. We’ve included information to help you know when and where you’ll need assistance, as well as handy tips to help you “set the scene” at home for a smooth, stress-free recovery.

Choose your Supporting Cast

Asking for help can be hard, but undergoing surgery requires the support of others. Here’s a basic list of people you will need on hand to make sure you stay safe and comfortable (and sane!) during your recovery:

  • A designated driver. You’ll need a trusted adult to drive you to the surgery center and take you home after your procedure. If possible, choose someone with a roomy vehicle that is easy to get in and out of. Also consider having someone on call during this time as it is dangerous to drive while you are taking prescription pain medications.
  • Someone to stay with you the first 24 – 48 hours. While you’ll be awake shortly after surgery, you may need assistance whenever you get up to use the bathroom or walk around as the effects of anesthesia gradually taper off.
  • Full-time childcare. Parenting can be demanding, particularly when you’ve just undergone surgery. To avoid straining your incisions, you should refrain from certain parenting duties, such as lifting or carrying small children. Get your spouse, a family member, or sitter to take over as primary caregiver while you recover. Your surgeon will provide you with a recovery timeline specific to your procedure.
  • Housekeeping help. Even moderate lifting is restricted while your incisions heal, which means most housework is off-limits (a large load of laundry can weigh upwards of 20 pounds!). Enlist a friend to help to take care of household tasks, or arrange for laundry service or grocery delivery for a couple of weeks.
  • Don’t forget about your pets! Fido won’t find the fact that you just had surgery a valid excuse to forgo his daily walk. Designate someone to tend to the non-human family members. This can be the perfect job for an older child, who may be thrilled to be “in charge” of this important task.

Preparing Your Home: Build Your Personal Recovery Suite

Even everyday tasks like getting dressed, brushing your teeth, or going upstairs may be a little challenging during the initial days after surgery. Make it easy on yourself by planning ahead: in each room of your home, do what you can to minimize effort and maximize comfort.

  • Do your spring cleaning now. Coming home to a clutter-free house can make you feel like a million bucks any time, but after surgery it’s especially important that your home be clean and free of obstacles.
  • Plan your post-surgery wardrobe. Many procedures require patients to modify their clothing choices for a few weeks. Loose-fitting clothes that go on easily are typically the best option for staying comfortable. Your plastic surgeon will give you instructions about clothing options for your specific procedure.
  • Be ready for a good night’s sleep. Your surgeon may require that you sleep on your back and/or keep your head elevated after surgery to protect the incisions. Extra pillows can help you maintain a comfortable position. If your bedroom is upstairs, consider setting up a temporary bedroom on the main level to make things a little easier.
  • Planning ahead for what you need. Lifting, reaching, and straining are usually off-limits after plastic surgery, so think of ways to organize your space that keeps everything you may need easily reachable.

Preparing the Kitchen: Plan Ahead for Healthy, Tasty, & Easy Meals

A key part of recovering well is eating well, but cooking is probably one of the last things you’ll feel like doing after surgery.

  • Make as much as you can ahead of time. Pre-cut fruits and veggies or stock up on yogurt cups for simple, healthy snacks. Bake or purchase casseroles that the family can easily reheat with minimal effort. Be sure to include fiber-rich foods on the menu, as pain meds can be somewhat constipating.
  • Place go-to foods and utensils at waist level to avoid unnecessary bending or reaching. Also, buy a pack of bendable drinking straws to help you stay hydrated without bending or tilting your head uncomfortably. This is especially helpful if you’ve had facial cosmetic surgery.
  • Consider using disposable dinnerware. You shouldn’t have to worry about doing the dishes after surgery. It’s okay to use disposable utensils and plates for a day or two if you’re worried about dishes piling up.

Prepare to be a Temporary Couch Potato

After most procedures, you’ll be encouraged to move around after the first day or two. But you do need to take a break from the gym, heavy housework, or other strenuous activity. Take this rare opportunity to lounge around by stocking up on easygoing activities before you have surgery. A few ideas to help you get started:

  • Put the TV to work. Your recovery is the perfect excuse to hunker down and binge-watch your favorite show on Netflix.
  • Visit the library. This is a great time to read a novel or two. If you’re having eyelid surgery, your eyes may tire more easily, so choose an audiobook.
  • Get some new stationery. When is the last time you sent out a real letter? Use your recovery to say hello to an old friend or knock out your holiday greeting cards.
  • Take the kids to the toy store. This can be a great opportunity to involve your kids and help prepare them for your recovery. Let them pick out a puzzle or board game you can play together while more strenuous activities are off-limits.

Prepare Yourself Emotionally

Don’t forget to take time to prepare your mind for your recovery. Knowing what to expect ahead of time can make a huge difference—emotional ups and downs are common for patients after cosmetic surgery. So, if you find yourself feeling fantastic one day and wondering if you made the right decision the next, you’re perfectly normal!

Our friends at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre have put together a handy infographic that nicely outlines the emotional stages of plastic surgery recovery.

Take Care of the Odds & Ends

Finally, think of anything you can do to make your surgery and recovery as stress-free as possible.

  • Get your prescriptions filled before surgery. Your plastic surgeon will issue any prescriptions at your pre-surgery appointment.
  • Double check your calendar. Make sure you don’t schedule any appointments or meetings that might interfere with your recovery during the weeks after surgery.
  • Pay your bills, mow the lawn, etc. After surgery, the last thing on your mind will be whether or not you paid the power bill. A good rule of thumb: take care of any routine tasks that you would normally do before leaving on a vacation.

By spending a little time now preparing for your recovery, you can relax knowing that everything and everyone is taken care of. Then you can focus on taking care of yourself.

Have questions about this guide or the recovery process? Please contact us! If you are considering having plastic surgery in New Jersey, we’ll be happy to discuss options with you during a with Dr. Parker.

For men, choosing to undergo male plastic surgery is a major decision that can have a profound impact on your life. Male plastic surgery is extremely common with over 1.25 million male cosmetic procedures performed in 2012, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons recent study. Many men are concerned about the recovery process and recovery time before they elect to have surgery.

Below are some ways to ensure a smooth recovery:

  • Cut out nicotine use. Smokers are encouraged to quit their nicotine habits before surgery if at all possible. Although this is not always a requirement, plastic surgery patients generally heal quicker and more easily if they do not have nicotine present in their system following surgery.
  • Prepare yourself for some downtime. Many men undergo strenuous activities in their personal and professional daily routine. The period of rest you will require depends on the type of surgery you are having done and other details related to your individual situation. At the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery in Paramus, NJ, all patients undergoing cosmetic surgery attend a one on one Preoperative Education session with the Center’s nurse coordinator. During this one hour meeting, the patient will be instructed on what to do in preparation for surgery and what specifically to expect afterwards. This time spent on patient education has played an important role in helping provide a low stress, more relaxed and quicker recovery.
  • Create an exercise plan. Following their surgery, patients will be guided by Dr. Parker and his staff regarding the progressive resumption of physical activities, including gym activities, classes, personal training, group sports, and their other usual exercises. Men who are physically active may be eager to jump back into their routine immediately, but it’s important to follow the doctor’s instructions and respect the recovery needs of your body in order to optimize your recovery. At the Preoperative Education session, discuss your regular workout routine. That will help Dr. Parker and his staff to develop a plan that will allow you to ease back into that routine smoothly following the procedure.

24-year-old Megan is a full-time registered nurse at a local hospital in New Jersey. She has always disliked her nose and has been self-conscious about it ever since middle school. While Megan’s nose was not large, she had a very rounded, fleshy tip that bothered her.

“While I’ve always hated my nose, I didn’t seriously start thinking about fixing it until I was in college. I knew that as soon as I had a full-time job I was going to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure,” said Megan.

Megan babysat a lot in college, and two of the women she sat for had surgery with Dr. Parker. Knowing that Megan was interested in a nose job, one of the women brought Megan to her appointment to meet Dr. Parker. As a medical professional, Megan really liked what she saw and how Dr. Parker’s patients were treated. Besides her in-person meeting with Dr. Parker, Megan also conducted a little research online. Megan believes that before and after photos are very telling of the type of work a plastic surgeon does. Megan was impressed by the natural looking results Dr. Parker was able to achieve with his patients.

“With all the women I knew personally who had very good results and the photos and information available on the website, I was confident that Dr. Parker was the surgeon for me,” explained Megan.

While Megan didn’t hide the fact that she was having plastic surgery, she didn’t really advertise it either. She was hesitant about telling her family, fearing that they wouldn’t support her decision, but they proved her wrong. Family, friends and co-workers were very supportive and made her feel even more confident about her decision.

Megan is absolutely thrilled with her new nose. She believes that it’s the nose she should’ve been born with originally. She loves that when she looks in the mirror she doesn’t see her flawed nose; she sees her whole face.

“The best part is the people who I didn’t tell I was having surgery. They look at me like something’s different, but they really can’t tell what it is. I love that! I think that it shows what a great job Dr. Parker did. I still look like me, just better. That’s exactly what I wanted,” Megan said.

As a registered nurse, Megan especially appreciated the Rapid Recovery Program that Dr. Parker has developed for his patients. A unique set of protocols, the program is designed to allow patients to return to their normal activities as soon as possible.

The Rapid Recovery Program includes a combination of treatments:

  • Oral medications given pre- and post-operation to reduce swelling and bruising

  • Short acting anesthetics to improve recovery time

  • Topical skin creams and manual lymphatic massage to decrease recovery time.

“My recovery was amazing. I was so fearful that it would be painful. I’ve told people that getting my ears pierced hurt more than this. I had very little bruising, and I really felt okay. I went home the first day and slept. Day two I hung around the house, but on day three I was out at the mall, shopping and lunching with friends,“ said Megan.

Megan was unbothered by her splint and had it removed one week post-operatively. She returned to work the following day. She believes that the Rapid Recovery Program really helped with speeding her healing and getting her back to normal quickly with almost no bruising and just minor swelling. Dr. Paul M. Parker and the staff at the Parker Center for Plastic Surgery have developed the Rapid Recovery Program with their patient’s busy lifestyles in mind. Their primary goal is to get you back to your demanding life with a minimum amount of downtime, little to no pain, and beautiful results.

George is a twenty year old college student who recently consulted New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Parker, of the Parker Center about a bump on his nose.  George had broken his nose as a young teen playing soccer and the injury left him with a noticeable bump.

Closed rhinoplasty uses incisions that are hidden on the inside of the nostrils and corrects relatively minor shape problems like George’s bump.  Dr. Parker felt this procedure would be quick and simple way of correcting the problem.

“It was a quick decision to have the surgery.  I went in for a consult on a different procedure and mentioned my nose.  Dr. Parker felt it would be a simple thing to fix and even showed me on the computer how my nose would like after surgery.  It looked great and I decided to have it done too,” George stated.Rhinoplasty for Men Photo

George was a little nervous about his male rhinoplasty procedure but after speaking with Angela and Dr. Parker prior to the surgery, he relaxed and felt ready to go ahead.  His mother, who accompanied him to the appointment, also fell in love with the Parker Center and approved of her son’s decision.

“I’m kind of a nervous guy, so this was a big deal to me.  I felt like Dr. Parker and Angela kind of eased me into it, really made sure I felt okay about the surgery,  they made it an easy process,” explained George.

The Parker Center utilizes a unique set of protocols designed to get patients back to their normal activities as soon as possible know as the Rapid Recovery Program.  The program helps to reduce swelling and bruising by using medications, supplement and lymphatic massage.  Most patients feel that it was a key factor in the ease of their recovery.

Even though George lives 2 ½ hours from the Parker Center, he followed the recovery instructions carefully and made the trips back for the lymphatic massages.   As a naturally speedy healer combined with the Rapid Recovery Program, George was lucky enough that after one week he had virtually no bruising or swelling.

“Right after I took the bandages off, about 7 days post-op, I went out with a bunch of my friends.  I had no swelling or bruising, no one noticed a thing, which was just what I wanted,” said George.

George had the male rhinoplasty surgery because the bump in his nose bothered him aesthetically.  However since the surgery, he’s noticed that both his breathing and his sleeping have improved and he no longer snores.

“I never though I had a breathing problem before the surgery but now I can feel I’m breathing better.  I’m extremely happy I had this done.  My nose, I never expected it to look this good.  It looks vey natural.  My parents are extremely pleased and my mom is even considering going back to Dr. Parker for herself,” George stated.

Men are having plastic surgery in record numbers. According to ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons), in 2010 male cosmetic surgery increased 2% and men now account for 13% of all cosmetic surgical procedures.

There has always been more of a stigma about men undergoing cosmetic surgery. It was always thought to be just for actors or celebrities. Because of that many men opted for less invasive procedures in order to conceal their actions. Increasingly though, men have been coming clean about having surgery rather than lying or hiding their surgery.

Male Liposuction in particular has increased over 7% from 2009 to 2010, making it the male cosmeticMale Liposuction Before and After Photo procedure with the largest increase. Men are looking to achieve that flat, tight, strong-looking abdomen that often cannon be attained even after months in the gym. Love handles are another problem that can be taken care of with liposuction for men. Isolated problem areas of fat are ideal for treatment with male liposuction.

“I wanted faster results than what I was seeing at the gym. Five days a week for 6 months and I still didn’t see the results I wanted. So, I knew it was time to see Dr. Parker,” said David, a liposuction patient of Dr. Parker.

New Jersey Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Parker and his staff approach male cosmetic surgery a little differently than they do with women. Men often require a higher level of anonymity and the Parker Center provides this with its state-of-the-art, on-site surgery center, Surgiplex, LLC. The Rapid Recovery Program is a set of unique protocols designed by Dr. Parker to minimize a man’s downtime and speed his recovery and return to work. Male Liposuction Before and After PhotoThe recovery program even includes postoperative medical manual lymphatic drainage massage to accelerate healing. Many patients find the massage to be the most pleasant part of their experience and often sign up for additional sessions.

“If it makes you happy, don’t worry about what other people think. I’ve told a bunch of my friends and nobody called me crazy or anything. Do it! Check out the Parker Center. Dr. Parker is a meticulous surgeon who gets great results; his supporting staff is terrific in recovering patients quickly and well,” proclaims Frank, a patient of Dr. Parker who underwent liposuction of his abdomen and flanks.

Liposuction is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the United State because of the amazing effect it has on changing your body contour. Liposuction for men is an effective, long-lasting method of fat removal that can give men the hard looking abdomen and can reduce those unattractive love handles giving guys the lean, toned appearance they desire.

Men who’ve undergone liposuction at the Parker Center often find it to be a life-changing procedure. Not only does it make men look better and feel better physically, but it also can make them feel better about themselves. In addition, it gives men the motivation they need to start living a healthier lifestyle.

Patty is a 34 year old single professional woman who lost over 100 lbs. the old fashioned way (diet and exercise) and has managed to keep the weight off for over three years.  While this achievement alone was worth celebrating, Patty was always unhappy with the excess skin that came along with her tremendous weight loss.

“My doctor had told me there was nothing that could be done about the skin, because I had always been overweight.  The skin had just stretched too much.  After the weight loss, I was a size 18 but I knew if I got rid of the loose skin, I could be a size 12 or even a size 10,” explained Patty.

Tummy Tuck in New Jersey ImageSince Patty has kept her weight off for 4 years, she was considered a very good candidate for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).  Tummy tuck surgery is not recommended as a weight loss tool.  It is recommended for women and men who have stabilized their body weight but still have excess baggy skin on their abdomen.  This surgery will remove the excess sagging skin and repair the stretched abdominal muscles due to pregnancy or weight gain, then loss.

“One of my friends had a New Jersey tummy tuck and breast lift with Dr. Parker last June and recommended that I go see him.  After meeting Dr. Parker, I felt so comfortable. I decided I was ready to do this.  I had a talk with my mom and decided it was worth the investment,” said Patty.

In Patty case, Dr. Parker wound up removing over 20 pounds of excess skin and fat in performing the Parker New Jersey Tummy Tuck, a combination of liposuction and tummy tuck.  Patty describes her recovery as uncomfortable, but not painful.  Two days after surgery, at her follow-up visit, Patty had her posture back to normal.  Standing up completely straight after abdominal surgery can take a week or so.

Tummy Tuck in New Jersey“I’m very happy I had the surgery.  I had the procedure performed 3 months ago, and since then, I’ve lost an additional 20 pounds. I’ve gone from a size 18 dress to a 12, which feels loose. I feel like I’m continuing to shrink more every day. It’s wonderful now to try on clothes and not have all that excess skin.  The Parker Center made it a wonderful experience.  They were always so caring and happy to see me.  I loved the lymphatic massages too.   I signed up for three more afterwards, because I left the spa feeling so wonderful,” Patty exclaimed.

Lymphatic massage is part of the Rapid Recovery Program at the Parker Center.  Dr. Parker has developed a unique set of protocols to help patients recover quickly, with less discomfort, and minimal swelling and bruising.  It allows New Jersey tummy tuck patients to return to their active, busy lives as quickly as possible.

Patty had combined her Parker Tummy Tuck with liposuction on her hips and back for a more pleasing body contour.  This combination of procedures gives patients like Patty the tight, toned shape they love. “I feel like a new person”, says Patty. “I’m thrilled with my results and for choosing the Parker Center. Every day, I see more positive changes in by body which help me look forward to summer and a whole new wardrobe”.

Every summer for the last five years Consuelo would consider having a facelift.  New Jersey resident and school teacher, she was 59-years old and hated looking in the mirror. She looked tired, even with makeup and 8 hours sleep.

“When I saw Dr. Parker online, saw his picture and read about him, I got a good feeling. Then when I met him, I knew right away this was the doctor to do my surgery.  I had seen about five other doctors but Dr. Parker was the only one who made me feel that he could do what I wanted,” she said.

Consuelo was unhappy that every time she looked in the mirror all she saw was the wrinkles in her neck, the bags under her eyes and her “tired” look.  “I’d be at work, feeling good and then someone would ask me if I was sleeping enough, saying that I looked tired,” she noted.  Not wanting to accept this, she started looking into having a facelift.

Face Lift New Jersey ImageDr. Parker performed the surgery in July so Consuelo would be completely healed by the time school starts.  Now, just three weeks after surgery, friends, relatives and even her ophthalmologist are asking for Dr. Parker’s name and number.

The Parker Center staff are caring and professional, and they made Consuelo feel very comfortable about having her surgery.  They gave her detailed instructions to help her through her recovery and made her feel good even at her most nervous.

Face Lift New Jersey Image“The best thing is now when I look in the mirror, I see myself looking the way I feel on the inside,” she said.  Also all the compliments she has received have made her feel that choosing Dr. Parker for her New Jersey neck contouring and facelift was the best decision she could have made. “Now, I can’t wait for school to start,” says Consuelo.

All facelift New Jersey cosmetic surgery patients at The Parker Center get customized care.  Natural-looking results are achieved by Dr. Parker in his fully accredited, state of the art ambulatory surgical facility.  The Parker Center staff is fully trained and staffed by experienced registered nurses and board certified anesthesiologists.

No matter what your age, if you’re unhappy with the signs of aging on your face and neck you can benefit from a facial rejuvenation evaluation at The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery.

Referred to New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Parker by his family physician, 19-year old Josh did not want to go back to college after last year.  Uncomfortable taking off his shirt because of his “man boobs”, Josh made the decision to investigate surgery in New Jersey.

Gynecomastia, or enlargement of the male breasts is not unusual.  It can affect one breast or both and is relatively common in adolescent boys and older men.  Years of teasing and embarrassment led Josh to seek help for his condition.  In high school, he would never go to pool parties and avoided going to the beach with his friends.

“In high school you’re with your friends and whatever, but in college it’s hard to not take off your shirt when you’re living with 30 other guys on a floor.  You have to shower and change and share a bathroom.  I told my parents I didn’t want to go back to college if I had to live in a dorm,” says Josh.

Dr. Parker immediately understood his problem and made Josh feel instantly feel comfortable.  The staff at The Parker Center impressed Josh and his parents.

“They are the nicest people ever, they made me feel comfortable and explained how common this condition is and made me feel that I wasn’t the only one and that it could be taken care of.  They made me feel so good before the surgery,” said Josh.

Now four weeks after surgery Josh has already been to the beach without wearing a t-shirt all day.  He is also playing soccer and doing all his normal activities.

“I’m excited to go back to college.  I’m so happy, I’m speechless.  It’s changed my life, I can say that.  Maybe I just had mean friends, but now they can’t say or even think anything.  It was the best decision I ever made,” said Josh.

Josh and his family would recommend The Parker Center to any man contemplating this procedure to gain a flatter, firmer chest with improved contour and an improved self-confidence.

Leanne, 28, had been to three other plastic surgeons before her New Jersey breast augmentation and rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Parker at The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery. She wishes he had been the first surgeon she visited, but he was definitely the last consultation she needed.

“From the moment I walked in….no, from the first phone call, they were all about you,” she says. “When I called to schedule a consultation, Michelle gave me 30-45 minutes of her time asking me questions and going over what to expect. That was before I ever step foot in the office!”

Her initial impressions carried on through to the consultation where Dr. Parker discussed breast implant options and what she wanted to correct about her nose. Throughout the entire process, Leanne was astounded by the personal attention she was given. It was a unique experience even though she had been to three other surgeons prior to Dr. Parker.

“Everyone was so caring, friendly and genuine, I just didn’t feel that at any of the other offices” she says. “And, the preparation was so thorough, I knew exactly what to expect through every phase of the surgery and recovery.”

Not only did she have a wonderful experience, but Leanne is overjoyed with her results. She had tuberous breasts which left her with no cleavage and she could never fill out a bra, no matter what size she wore. So, her lingerie drawer was filled with heavily padded bras that were bulky and extremely hot to wear in the summer months, even in New Jersey. Breast augmentation gave her shape, fullness and the cleavage she had been wanting.

“Now, I can look down and know that that is all me,” she says. “My God Mother has to pull me away from the mirror because I still can’t believe how good they look and that they are mine!”

For her New Jersey rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Parker reduced the size of her nose, making it more delicate and in better balance with the rest of her face. Leanne was thrilled as well with the natural appearance of her nose. She had been concerned about its appearance for awhile and decided to have it improved since she would be asleep anyway.

When asked about her recovery, the first thing she said was, “The Rapid Recovery Program is unbelievable…amazing actually.” Leanne especially enjoyed the manual lymphatic massage, but was impressed with all the safety and pain management measures that were taken to make sure everything went smoothly.

“Wait until you’ve had kids before you get your implants.” This is what New Jersey plastic surgery patient, Christy, heard from friends and family when she would bring up the subject. But at 28, while on a beach vacation this winter, Christy decided to go ahead and do it.

“Watching other women walking by filling out their bathing suits, I was like, ‘I want that!’ So, I made the decision then to go ahead with it when I got home. I knew that it was now or never. I had the money and I felt that other life altering issues, like kids, would force me to put it off even longer,” she says. “I want to enjoy them now, not years from now.”

She chose Dr. Parker for her New Jersey breast augmentation procedure because she had seen his work in person. But what clinched her decision was the consultation. She was very impressed with the entire staff at The Parker Center and appreciated that they treated her like a part of their family instead of just a patient.

“I got a really good vibe from everyone when I walked in,” she says. “I knew if I didn’t feel comfortable during consult that I would keep looking. But, my search was over when I found Dr. Parker.”

Christy was barely a B cup prior to her procedure. The silicone implants she chose made her a 34/36 D. She says the results look completely natural and in proportion with the rest of her body. Because she wore padded bras to mask her lack of a bust-line, no one even realizes that she had the procedure. As for her recovery, Christy says she was back to work in full-force after just two weeks!

She feels so much better about herself and is, of course, working on a new wardrobe. She is ready to show off her new body on her next beach vacation. She does say that there is one downside- having to say goodbye to her current wardrobe, which she is quite attached to.

“My girlfriends are going shopping in my closet and lingerie drawer,” she says. “They are having fun doing it, but my boyfriend has noticed that I am spending a lot of time in my closet saying goodbye to my ‘collection’.”

When asked about the issue of kids since so many people had used that as an argument to wait, Christy said that she, Dr. Parker and Angela, the patient education nurse, went over everything including the fact that having kids after implants would not cause any problems.

“Angela was great. She went over everything, including the aspect of kids,” says Christy. “There was even a chart of emotions to expect following the procedure. They prepared me really well for what I was going to go through.”

Christy has recommended Dr. Parker to all her friends that are interested in New Jersey plastic surgery and says that if she ever needed anything else done, there was no question where she would go.
